Grilled Gruye`re Cheese & Tomato Sandwich For Lunch July 1, 2010
How I made it; I used Sour Dough Bread, Smoked Gouda Cheese, Le Gruye`re Cheese and I picked from the garden a juice sun ripped tomato and about 5 Basile leaves. I buttered the bread on both sides, I placed both pieces of bread in an large stainless steel pan with a stainless steel handle. Once browned on one side I turned it over and and placed both cheese types on both sides of the bread, I covered the one side of with sliced tomato and Basile leaves. I then took both pieces and put them together and I browned on both sides of the bread again, put a few slivers of Le Gruye`re Cheese on top of sandwich and place in a 400 degree oven for 5 -7 minutes until melted. Cut in half and you have yourself a crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside Grilled Cheese Sandwich! Yummy
Tip: Tear the Basile in small bite size pieces and don't use to much cheese on the inside or it will be to cheesy, if there is such a thing!
