Sunday August 29, 2010

Jeff and I went to church this morning, then we went to the grocery store and came home and made lunch. I am still working on my scrapbook room. I am organizing it and cleaning it out. We have several stacks of paper of mail to go through. I really hate all the mail that comes in our home. I will post a picture of my craft room once I get it cleaned up enough. I haven't been taking pictures of my food lately, because I started back to work. I will try to put some pictures up, it's hard getting the good lighting for the pictures. I also, want to start posting pictures of my cards that I make! I just love my Cricut Machine, it is so much fun to play with! I made these cards with my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge. I also used the toilet paper cardboard to slide my tags into. I painted the inside of the cardboard to match the paper I put on the outside. I used Martha Steward flowers and I used Stamping Up Stamps. Some of the stickers are Creative Memories The paper came from Hobby Lobby! I hope I didn't forget anything. I did, I didn't take a picture of the toilet paper holder that I slide the tags into, I will post at another time.

Sunday Roasted Chicken and a Good Friend July 17, 2010

Today was a pretty good day! We went to church this morning and we served coffee in the cafe at church, it so awesome to serve at church. We had a quiet day at home this afternoon. I made that spicy shrimp for lunch, that I made the other day, but this time I made Jasmine Rice and a salad. We had a good friend over for dinner tonight! I made roasted rosemary lemon garlic chicken, baked potato with butter and sour cream; I also made a lettuce salad. I forgot to take a picture, sorry! This was another tasty meal. Yesterday, we went over to some friend's house for a cook out. They served hamburgers and hot dogs. I made rosemary, garlic roasted potatoes and a salad. I remembered to take a picture of this meal. We really enjoy spending time with our friends. And this how we found Jack today. He loves sleeping in the bed; he really is a good cat!

Put him first July 15, 2010

Good morning my world of blogger friends.....May God bless you today and may you see him in the little things, in your life. I hope you see God's will for your life, you first have to seek him in order to see it! What does he need to do to convince you, he uses the people around you to speak to you, comfort you, encourage you and to lead you to him?

Tonight my friend Margaret called us and asked us to go out to dinner. We treated them to dinner with the gift certificates we won! I love Margaret and Joe, they are such great friends. They are the most down to earth people you will ever meet. I gave her one of the Blueberry Lemon Pound Cakes, I made today. I am truly blessed to have such great friends in my life. This is Margaret and Joe's Barn that Joe built this past year!

Picking Blueberries July 13, 2010

Today I picked blueberries, at my girlfriends house. She lives about 10 minutes from my house. I think she must have over 17 huge blueberry bushes, they almost look like trees. I didn't even make a dent, in her blueberry bushes. It was very hot when I first got there, and there where these very dark clouds to the west of me and I didn't think much of it. About an hour into picking the wind really kicked up and the huge trees that where close by, parted down the middle and swayed back and forth, it was pretty cool to watch the storm move in on me. When it started to rain, I packed up and left. The picture of the dirt road, is the road to get to Margaret's house. Also, she has many fruit tree's and that is her barn, her husband just built.

I made a omelet for breakfast this morning. Went to Zumba Class today, almost backed out thank goodness Sherri said she was going, so I need to be there for her.

Lots of projects today! July 9, 2010

Today, for breakfast I made a frittata with the left over vegetables from last nights dinner. Jeff hung up hurricane shutter up on his mom's house and I did some planting. Sandy and I had Fish Tacos at Limes, which is a South Western style restaurant, Jeff had a very large burrito. The humidity is really high today, with the heat it really is taking a toll on us. It makes you very tired. We also, went out to dinner at Flanigan's also known as Big Daddy's! The food is wonderful, they have great ribs, hamburgers, wings and salads. Going home tomorrow!

Sisters having Lunch July 8, 2010

I drove way out to West Miami to have lunch with my sister Debbie, today. She took me to this wonderful restaurant call, Vienna Cafe and Bistro. The place was packed with people, we had to sit at the bar until a table was available, a very cozy warm inviting place and a very European feel. We chatted with the owner Sandra, I asked her what made her restaurant so successful she said, "one of the things is I only serves fresh food, everything is fresh nothing from a can or frozen is served from my restaurant." She said a lot more but I won't go into that. We both ordered different sandwiches, mine was Chicken Salad and her's was a warm BLT, they both were great! We shared sandwiches and memories and had a very good time.

She lives right off Key Biscayne, the view is so beautiful and it's nice to get away! I hope we go to the Cuban Restaurant when we are there, I just love Cuban food, and I miss it so much! I am hoping to cook for her, she really like a home cooked meal! His mom's computer is pretty old, so I don't know if I will be able to post my pictures until I get back to my broken computer at home, ha ha... No it's just our internet at home, it's not reading that we have internet connection, it's driving me crazy, so I am at the Library right now posting! My Visit To The Hospital This Morning June 30, 2010

Jeff was complaining that his stomach hurt last night. While I was making my Chocolate French Toast this morning, he said he better go to the hospital. I said "okay, but I need to take a picture first of my French Toast." I know that's sounds crazy, but his pain was not severe on a scale of 1 to 10 it was a five. Anyway, I took my picture, scarfed the french toast down and wrote my recipe down and out the door we went. Oh, I grabbed my bag and filled it with some of my books and a journal, I have to have something to do while I am in there. We found out he has Diverticulitis and 3 kidney stones. He had been eating a lot of sunflower seeds this past week which helped bring it on. I also, had a lunch date with my friends today and I was able to make it only being 20 minutes late. Jeff and I went together to the lunch date. After getting home so late from running around getting him his medicines, I was not prepared to go to my girls night of card making and Laura's Birthday celebration. Plus, I think Jeff really wanted me to stay with him even tho he would not say so and I will always put his needs first, after I take the picture of the food, ha ha. You know ladies, that's one of the secrets to a great marriage, putting your husband first. I have had a couple of bad night sleep this week, so I think tonight I will go to bed early.
