Dinner and South Beach tonight, July 8, 2010

Tonight I made Sandy, Shrimp Scampi Pasta, this was so good. I boiled Linguine noodles for about 8 to 10 minutes. Then I crushed 4 large garlic cloves and chopped 1/4 cup parsley. I took about 1/4 cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and 4 tablespoons of butter and the garlic, I saute on medium to low head for about 1 to 2 minutes, I then added the shrimp and about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of white wine, lemon zest from one lemon and the juice of one lemon, 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt and lots of cracked pepper, a few shakes of red pepper flakes and saute for about 5 minutes. I then pored all the shrimp and sauce over the cooked linguine noodles and mixed it all, and I then sprinkled with a little more parsley. I like fresh Parmesan Cheese on mine, so I added to my plate later. This truly is a wonderful meal, you must try it.

After dinner we drove to South Beach and drove down the strip on South Beach, it was a beautiful drive. There were so many people on South Beach, that place was hopping. Every restaurant and hotel had there big TV's on the James Lebron story, he is a basketball player for those of you who don't follow the sport, this town has gone crazy over this story.

Anyway, it was so pretty tonight, there were these big thunderhead clouds all over the sky, no rain just these dark purple clouds scattered all through the skyline on a background of a pale blue and pink sky, beautiful! If you have never been to South Beach, its a very happening place most of the hotels have these cafes out front with these market umbrellas and they are all filled with people eating and drinking and dancing. There are people everywhere walking, driving, roller blading and riding bikes. Some of the hotels are lit up with neon signs. The streets are packed with cars and people, it's a very different place than I am use to.
